The Hoover Track Foundation is proud to announce the 2010 SouthEast XC Showdown will be held October 9, 2010, at Veterans Park on Valleydale Road in Hoover, AL.  Our inaugural year was a huge success and 2010 promises to be even bigger and better!

This year we are expanding the collegiate races to a Men's 8K and Women's 5K and are adding USATF Youth races by age group for USATF Teams and Individuals.  We will be a preview meet for the NCAA Div. I South Region and Div. II Gulf South Conference Championships - so we should see some exciting collegiate racing! In the afternoon we will hold USATF Youth races to preview the course for the USATF Jr. Olympics National XC Championships! And just to spice it up a little more, we've partnered with the Trak Shak to sponsor a Coach's Challenge 3K as part of the USATF All Comers Open race!

Our experienced meet management team is renowned for hosting such prestigious XC meets at Veterans Park as the Great American XC Festival 2005 - 2008, Nike Team Nationals SE Regional in 2007, and will host the USATF Junior Olympics National XC Championships December 11, 2010.

We know you have limited budgets and limited meet opportunities.   Our philosophy is to provide the best value for you, while making this an exciting experience that you and your team will cherish long after you’ve left our city.  We do this by starting with a challenging, picturesque, spectator friendly, permanent cross country course, adding some of the top teams in the region, then incorporating pageantry, including marching drum lines, flag corps, the military, etc., to enhance the cross country experience.  Each race will have unique medals for the top 25 runners and special awards for the top 3 teams.

Entry fees are only $100.00 per boys or girls team with unlimited entries.  The elite, All American Championship is limited to 10 athletes per team.  You may enter the rest of your team in the appropriate division for your school (e.g., Small School/JV or Large School races).  Middle school teams are limited to the Middle School races and will not compete against high school athletes.  College Men and Women are limited to 12 athletes per team.

We have plenty of free parking, so bring the families to cheer on your team!  In fact, tell them to enter the USATF Youth races or the Trak Shak All Comers Open & Coaches Challenge 3K Run on race day for only $10/person.  They can register online, on site Friday during your site visit, or Saturday morning beginning at 6:30.

We have plenty of things to do in Hoover and the Birmingham area.  This year our host hotel is the brand new Homewood Suites on Riverchase Parkway.  We would appreciate you considering staying with our sponsoring hotels. And of course, no trip to Alabama is complete without a visit to Jim ‘N Nicks Bar BQ, so we’ll have them on site cooking for you Saturday!
