Who is the Hoover Track Foundation,
Inc.?
The Hoover Track Foundation
(HTF) is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to promote and support
the sports of cross country and track and field within the City of Hoover and
the surrounding communities. The HTF
accomplishes this by partnering with booster clubs, companies, schools,
government agencies, and other not-for-profit agencies to develop, support, and
hold cross country and track events.
HTF owns and hosts the SE
Cross Country Showdown which is held at Veterans Park in Hoover on the second
Saturday each October. We also support
other meets such as the NCAA Gulf South Conference XC Championships.
This year we are partnering
with USA Track & Field Alabama Association to host the 2010 USATF Junior
Olympics National Cross Country Championships to be held at Veterans Park on
December 11, 2010.
Proceeds from these events
will be used to fund scholarships from the HTF to deserving student athletes
from Jefferson and/or Shelby County, AL.
We also provide fund raising opportunities to area schools and booster
organizations that help us put on these meets.
We believe this is an effective way to fund XC and Track & Field
programs and to help individual athletes as well.
